About Me
Dr Vidu grew up in Sydney’s North West. He studied medicine at the University of New South Wales, and it was whilst he was completing his medical training in Sydney’s Concord Hospital that he discovered a passion for renal medicine, which would eventually determine his field of expertise. Dr Vidu furthered his studies and research skills with a Master of Medicine (Clinical Epidemiology) from the University of Sydney.
He believes that healthy kidneys keep your body in balance every day. It’s best to not wait for symptoms—prevention and early detection are key to lifelong kidney health.
Dr Vidu enjoys his role as Head of Department at Gosford Hospital, where he leads a dynamic team of nephrologists, nurses and allied health staff and oversees the care of renal patients district-wide, including a large cohort of dialysis and kidney transplant patients. He also works with the next generation of medical students by teaching renal medicine at the University of Newcastle Central Coast Clinical School. It's important work for Dr Vidu, who finds the act of giving back and being of service extremely rewarding.
His life outside of renal medicine involves being a part of his local community, as well as spending time with his wife and young son. When he has time away from work, he enjoys nothing more than watching cricket and exploring new technology.
